Barcelona star could retire at the end of the season | OneFootball

It is not ruled out that a member of the attacking ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona could call time on his playing days come the season’s end.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Robert Lewandowski as the player in question.

Frontman Lewandowski is of course currently in the twilight of his legendary career, set to turn 38 years of age next summer.

The understanding is that the former Bayern Munich man will not continue his Barcelona adventure beyond 2026, after the decision was made not to renew his expiring contract terms.

This means that Lewandowski will be left with a major decision to make in less than 12 months’ time.

And as per Sport:

‘It remains to be seen if Lewandowski decides to extend his sporting career for one or two more years or finally opts for retirement.’

The attacker’s family, it is understood, are keen to settle in Catalunya’s capital permanently no matter his situation at club level.
