Barcelona star Ferran Torres addresses PSG rumours: ‘In football, you never know’ | OneFootball

FC Barcelona and Spain striker Ferran Torres has addressed the growing speculation linking him with Paris Saint-Germain, stopping short of dismissing reports about his future.

The Barcelona star, who is currently in the United States as part of a promotional tour with Under Armour, was asked about the transfer rumours during an appearance on NBC’s Today show.

Ferran breaks his silence

The 26-year-old attacker, who scored the winning goal in Spain’s World Cup final triumph, began by reaffirming his commitment to Barcelona.

However, Ferran also acknowledged the unpredictable nature of the transfer market with a response that immediately fueled further speculation.

“I have a contract with Barcelona, but in football you never know. I’m waiting to make the right decision. I still don’t know,” he said, as quoted by SPORT.

When asked whether he has a dream club, Ferran avoided naming a specific team, instead offering a simple answer.

“My dream is to be happy,” he said.

The Spanish international also reflected on scoring the winning goal that secured Spain’s second World Cup title, admitting he has watched the goal countless times since the final.

“I’ve watched it a thousand times because during the match I wasn’t really aware of how I scored. I only remember going crazy and running away to celebrate. I can’t describe that feeling with words. You have to experience it.”

Future still unresolved

Ferran’s comments come at a time when his future remains the subject of increasing attention.

The 26-year-old continues to be linked with PSG, while Barcelona are still weighing their options as the summer transfer window enters its decisive phase.

The La Liga champions have already lost Robert Lewandowski this summer and are scouring the market for a new No. 9, while Ferran’s situation remains unresolved.

The forward has less than a year left on his contract and even though the Blaugrana wish to retain him, they do not plan on opening renewal talks until September.

Ferran, for his part, is understood to be willing to jump ship and sign for PSG as he feels undervalued at the Spotify Camp Nou.

Having enjoyed the best season of his career in 2025/26, the Spaniard his not satisfied by how the club has handled his contract situation.

And, an opportunity to reunite with PSG manager Luis Enrique, with whom he worked in the Spain national team, appeals to him. The fact that Les Parisiens are offering a lucrative five-year contract is also a factor.

For now, Ferran remains a Barcelona player, but his refusal to completely rule out a move is likely to keep speculation surrounding his future alive in the weeks ahead.
