The representatives of Barcelona star Marc-André ter Stegen have already kicked into gear efforts to find a new club for their client for the 2nd half of the campaign.
This of course comes with the shot-stopper widely expected to be on the move following the turn of the year.
Ter Stegen finds himself in something of a difficult situation in Catalunya’s present.
Sidelined long-term owing to a back injury, upon his return, the German will find himself third in the pecking order between the posts in Hansi Flick’s squad.
Once considered one of the first names on the Barcelona team sheet, Ter Stegen has therefore been left with no choice but to seek out a new club ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
And as alluded to above, the 33-year-old’s entourage are evidently well aware of this fact.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:
‘His agents, in agreement with their client, have already started making moves, aware that Marc wants to be at the World Cup and that his national team coach, Julian Nagelsmann, has made it very clear to the player that he will only start for Germany if he first plays regularly for a club.’
A short-term loan move for Ter Stegen is therefore considered the most likely outcome.
