Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy has produced a long list of highly talented midfielders in recent years and their presence is being seriously felt in the first team.
Gavi, Marc Casado, Fermin Lopez, and Marc Bernal are all products of the Catalan academy and it is safe to say that La Masia has an equally talented set of players coming up in the next generation.
One such player who is seen to have a high ceiling as an elite midfielder is young Orian Goren.
Goren, Barcelona Cadet A’s talented midfielder, is only 15 years of age and is already seen as one of the brightest talents in the academy.
As relayed by SPORT, the youngster will turn 16 in just over a month and will then be eligible to sign his first senior contract with FC Barcelona.
The outlet further relays that there is no question at this point in time that the prodigy will sign his first professional contract with the club. Not only do Barcelona see him as a crucial part of their future plans but the player also has it as his dream to stay.
Orian will thus not listen to any offers he attracts on the table apart from Barcelona and will sign a deal until 2028 imminently.
Goren is a creative interior midfielder by trade and his style of play is best compared to Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta and current superstar Pedri.
He is right-footed, understands the Barcelona philosophy perfectly, and also has tremendous control of the ball on his weak foot. His strength lies in controlling the game and finding defence-splitting passes, although he can also play as a winger or a false nine.
The 15-year-old currently shuttled between Cadet A and Juvenil B and already has scored four goals this season. Needless to say, Barcelona will look to close the renewal before the player attracts unnecessary attention.
