La Liga giants Barcelona have early this week closed an agreement for a fresh addition to the club’s reserve team ranks.

This comes amid confirmation of the Blaugrana securing a deal for Defensor Sporting talent Patricio Pacifico.

As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano:

‘Barcelona agree deal to sign Uruguayan 19 year old left back Patricio Pacifico from Defensor Sporting, here we go!’

The starlet arrives in Catalunya’s capital on an initial loan deal, featuring an option to buy worth €1.8 million. This clause could be triggered automatically in the case of certain conditions being met.

Pacifico, for his part, is a 19-year-old defender, who has to this point been plying his club trade in his home country of Uruguay, with Defensor Sporting.

The youngster chiefly lines out at left-back, but owing to his versatility, is also capable of slotting into a centre-back role.

Pacifico has long been tipped by many in South America as a future star in the making.
