Filipe Luís remains available and is being linked with a European role for 2026/27.
Sky Sports reports that Bayer Leverkusen want to hire the former Flamengo coach for 2026/27, with talks already under way and he is currently the favourite to take the job.
The German club are also working on plan B and plan C should no agreement be reached.
After retiring at the end of 2023, Filipe Luís began with Flamengo’s under-17s in 2024 and won the Taça Rio against Vasco at São Januário.
He then stepped up to the under-20s, lifting the category’s Club World Cup against Olympiacos (GRE) at the Maracanã.
Later in 2024 he took charge of the senior side, winning the Copa do Brasil, then in 2025 added the Libertadores and the Brasileirão before being dismissed in March.
While he considers his next move, Flamengo prepare for their final match before the World Cup, facing Coritiba in the Brasileirão at the Maracanã on Saturday 30 at 16h, Brasília time.
