Bayern Munich have lost Manuel Neuer to a calf strain and face a fitness worry over Harry Kane before Tuesday’s Champions League Round of 16 first leg at Atalanta. According to Football Italia, Neuer’s issue is minor but he is expected to miss around two weeks, so he could also sit out the return.

The tie opens at the New Balance Arena in Bergamo at 20.00 GMT (21.00 CET). La Dea are the only Italian side left in the competition at this stage and are seen as underdogs against the German giants.

Kane missed last night’s 4-1 Bundesliga win over Borussia Monchengladbach, the team’s sixth straight victory in all competitions. He is still nursing a calf problem and it remains to be seen if he will feature in Bergamo.

Neuer was replaced on the night by Jonas Urbig, and the 22-year-old should start in Bergamo. Urbig has played 11 matches for Bayern this season, keeping four clean sheets and conceding 11 goals.

Alphonso Davies, Hiroki Ito and Leon Klanac are already long-term absentees.
