Othmane Maamma, the 20-year-old Moroccan attacking midfielder developed at Montpellier, is expected to leave Watford this summer, with Benfica, Everton and Crystal Palace among the clubs exploring a move.

According to L'Équipe, Everton and Benfica have sought detailed information, Crystal Palace have also shown interest but are awaiting clarity over their next head coach, and a high-placed Ligue 1 club has registered interest.

Maamma was named player of the tournament at the Under-20 World Cup last autumn. He then missed out when Morocco trimmed their squad to 26 for the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Suitors value his explosive, technical profile and the possibility of a future profit on resale. That logic led Lille to examine the deal last winter.

After a pre-season disrupted by that tournament, Maamma, under contract at Watford until June 2029, made 25 Championship appearances, scoring 4 goals and providing 1 assist.
