Benfica want Tiago Gouveia to raise his level during his loan at Nice, with the rest of 2025/26 set to shape his immediate prospects.

According to Glorioso 1904, the club feels his showings in France have not fully met pre-loan expectations. He has played regularly, but Benfica believe his attacking impact and consistency can improve. They have told the 24-year-old that a place in the 2026/27 pre-season group is not guaranteed.

To be included in summer preparations, Gouveia must show clear development, greater competitive commitment and produce numbers that justify a firm role next season.

The run-in will be decisive for the Seixal academy graduate. Benfica still rate his potential, yet they want greater regularity and a performance level closer to the standard required to be an option for José Mourinho.
