Best Defensive/Central Midfielders in the Bundesliga of 2026 ranked | OneFootball

The second part of the summer Bundesliga player rankings, assessing the second half of the 2025/26 season, has been released. Kicker reports that no defensive or central midfielder made its World Class tier.

International Class features, at one, Joshua Kimmich, FC Bayern, at two, Kaishu Sano, Mainz, and at three, Johan Manzambi, Freiburg, now at Aston Villa.

National Class begins with four, Felix Nmecha, Borussia Dortmund, and five, Tom Bischof, FC Bayern. Six is Leon Avdullahu, TSG Hoffenheim, followed by seven, Angelo Stiller, VfB Stuttgart, and eight, Leon Goretzka, FC Bayern, now a free agent.

Nine is Aleix Garcia, Bayer Leverkusen, then 10, Marcel Sabitzer, Borussia Dortmund, 11, Wouter Burger, TSG Hoffenheim, and 12, Xaver Schlager, RB Leipzig, now at Bournemouth.

Rounding off the list are 13, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Hamburger SV, 14, Jens Stage, Werder Bremen, 15, Nicolas Seiwald, RB Leipzig, and 16, Aleksandar Pavlovic, FC Bayern.
