Chelsea've stepped up their summer transfer activity with formal bid for Barcelona’s rising star Fermin Lopez.

Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the London club submitted official written offer worth 40 million euro for the 22 year old midfielder.

Chelsea’s push for Lopez

The Blues moved quickly after their 2 - 0 win over Fulham on Saturday sending Barcelona proposal to secure Lopez’s services. Reports indicate that Chelsea're eager to complete the deal swiftly viewing the Spaniard as priority target before the window closes.

Barcelona've yet to respond to the bid. However with Lopez’s market value estimated at 50 million euro, the Catalan giants may hold out for higher fee.
