Bologna ‘to demand’ £21.3m for Sunderland-linked Jhon Lucumí after bid rejected | OneFootball

Transfer speculation around Sunderland-linked defender Jhon Lucumí has intensified, with fresh reporting on his Bologna future.

The Colombian has been on the Black Cats’ radar for the past year, but Bologna refused to sell last summer.

“A year ago, we couldn’t sell him at the end of the transfer window, but we promised him that this year, given a suitable offer, we’d make it happen,” said chief executive Claudio Fenucci, speaking to Pallone nel 7.

Nicolo Schira reports the Serie A club rejected around £12.8 million from Besiktas of Türkiye, and are seeking a package in the region of £21.3 million. He adds that unnamed Serie A and Premier League clubs are monitoring the situation.

Sunderland continue to assess defensive options, particularly left-sided and left-footed profiles, with Premier League, domestic cup and European commitments increasing the need for depth.
