Portsmouth beat Leicester City 1-0 at Fratton Park on Saturday, a result that lifts the hosts from 19th to 18th in the Championship.

John Mousinho's side had to reshuffle early when Keshi Anderson went off injured in the eighth minute, with Adrian Segečić introduced. Another blow followed as Terry Devlin departed and Ibane Bowat came on (17.).

The decisive moment arrived when Ibane Bowat turned in Segečić's cross after a corner (63.). It was a well-worked set piece that rewarded Portsmouth's persistence after the restart.

Nicolas Schmid preserved the lead with sharp stops, denying Patson Daka's header (74.) and a powerful drive (78.) as the Foxes pressed for an equaliser.

Portsmouth registered 11 attempts, with two on target, and five corners. The Foxes posted 14 attempts, three on target, and seven corners, edging possession at 52.6%.

Portsmouth visit Coventry City next. The Foxes host Hull next. Leicester remain 23rd in the table.
