With Santos on holiday for the World Cup break, goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão is maintaining his fitness, training through the club’s downtime amid uncertainty over his future.
According to Diario Do Peixe, the 25-year-old posted gym sessions on social media over the weekend. The squad are due back on 22 June to start preparations at CT Rei Pelé after roughly three weeks off.
Wearing the number 77, Brazão is among players who could attract movement in the July window, with Santos seeking to balance finances and not ruling out deals for valued squad members.
He closed the first half of the season in form, starting the final two matches before the pause. Against Deportivo Cuenca in the Copa Sudamericana, he saved a penalty in a 3-0 win that sealed play-off qualification. Days later he featured in a 3-1 victory over Vitória in the Brazilian Championship.
Talk around a possible departure and internal assessments of his performances has stirred debate among supporters, who have shown backing for the goalkeeper online.
Santos have an international tour from 7 to 17 July under the Joga Brasil banner, with official matches expected to resume at the end of July against Universidad Central de Venezuela in the Sudamericana play-offs.
