Brazil women’s under-20s face Finland in friendly this Wednesday

The Women’s Under-20 National Team faces Finland’s Under-23 team in a friendly this Wednesday (3) at 7 a.m. (Brasília time) at Dr. Carlos Osório Stadium in Aveiro, Portugal. The match is part of a run of three preparatory games for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, which will be played in September this year in Poland. Head coach Camilla Orlando assessed the team’s preparation and looked ahead to the clash.

“It has been two intense days, as with every call-up, with a lot of learning and a lot of exchange, especially because there are new players, so we also need to share a little and try to minimize the challenges of a new way of playing. All of them are ready to be here and very eager to represent the Brazilian National Team,” she said.

“We hope to be able to apply these two days of learning already in this game. Expectations are always the best. Playing in the Brazilian National Team shirt is very special, and playing against a national team that, although it is not in the World Cup, is coming to these friendlies with an Under-23 squad, with more experienced players, is important for the process. So it will be a match that will put us in different situations against an opponent we have not faced yet,” she added.

The team arrived in Portugal on Sunday (31) and had two training sessions to prepare on Monday (1) and Tuesday (2).

Brazil won the South American championship in the category in February this year, thus securing its place at the World Cup. The tournament will be played in September 2026 in Poland.

In addition to the continental competition, the Canarinho also faced the United States this year in two preparatory friendlies, also with a focus on the World Cup.
