Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey says he is not considering a summer move despite suggestions of Bayern Munich interest.
“It is always nice when such a big club shows interest, but I haven’t heard anything myself. So, I don’t know,” he said, speaking to ViaPlay.
The Netherlands international joined in the final days of a hectic summer window from Ajax and needed time to get fully fit. After opening his account in a 2-2 home draw with Arsenal, he has imposed his physicality and work-rate on Premier League defences.
Asked about a move to Germany, he added: “I don’t know. I’m not thinking about that right now.”
Brobbey’s form has earned widespread praise, helping Regis Le Bris’ side compete for Europe. Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman recalled him for last month’s friendlies against Norway and Ecuador, awarding his ninth and 10th senior caps.
“When I arrived here, everything was new and I wasn’t fully fit yet. I really grew in that area. And I also became more mature on the pitch. You play with experienced players who have been through a lot, like Granit Xhaka and Nordi Mukiele. You just learn from that.”
