Cagliari goalkeeper Elia Caprile is seemingly open to leaving Sardinia amid growing interest from Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan.

Speaking to Radio TV Serie A via FCInterNews, Caprile left the door open for a potential summer transfer.

The 24-year-old has gone from strength to strength since joining Cagliari from Napoli in January.

Indeed, he first moved to Sardinia on a short-term loan before signing a permanent deal in the summer.

Despite his potential, Caprile never had a chance to prove his worth in Naples.

Forced to play second fiddle to Alex Meret, he left the Partenopei last winter for regular first-team action.

More importantly, a move to Cagliari has allowed him to showcase his abilities week in and week out.

Furthermore, his brilliant performances have not gone unnoticed, with Inter adding him to their shortlist.

First of all, Elia Caprile is grateful to Cagliari for offering him an escape route from Napoli.

Indeed, the highly-rated goalkeeper was on the fringes at Stadio Diego Maradona before the Sardinians signed him in January.

Since then, he has become one of the most reliable shot-stoppers in Serie A.

“In January, Cagliari gave me the chance to play regularly and be a key player again,” Caprile revealed.

“I chose Cagliari with a strong desire to get back on the pitch and make an impact.”

Then, he admitted that he feels flattered to receive broad plaudits for his impressive form at the Unipol Domus.

“Of course, compliments feel good,” Caprile added. “That means I’m working the right way.

“However, I stay focused only on my work, training hard to help the club secure safety.

“The compliments are nice, but I focus much more on training, improving, and seeing where my commitment takes me.”
