CAN 2025: Morocco eases entry for fans
Morocco has introduced a temporary Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for supporters from eight African countries that are normally visa-exempt. This move comes in preparation for CAN 2025.
This measure applies to Algeria, Senegal, Niger, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gabon, Togo, and Tunisia, and is part of the preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026. The goal is to simplify entry for fans traveling to Morocco and ensure smooth logistics throughout the tournament. Supporters will need to apply via the specially designed “YALLA” app, developed by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation specifically for this event.
This initiative is part of Morocco’s broader plan to prepare for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which the country will co-host with Spain and Portugal. Other announced measures include the “Décollage 2025” program to modernize airports and the completion of 120 infrastructure projects by December 2025.
During this period, applications for tourist or official visit visas must be submitted at least 96 hours before the intended departure via a separate online portal.
