On the eve of the match against the Bavarian side, the Bianconere coach, Massimiliano Canzi, and Eva Schatzer spoke at a press conference to preview the action.

"Bayern Munich are very strong on set pieces, but that doesn't surprise me because in modern football it's essential to exploit these situations, which are becoming increasingly common. A three-player attack? It could be a solution, we have various options available, but we certainly won't change our style. Tomorrow we'll be playing against a team we know well, a strong team, and there's no risk of us underestimating our opponents. We'll have to put in a perfect performance to come back to Italy with a positive result. One of the key words for tomorrow's match will be ‘balance’. We will need it in all phases, from start to finish. Would I settle for a draw? I would never settle for a draw because every game must be played to win. Clearly, we are aware of our opponents' strength, and if we were to come away with a point from this away game, it would be a positive result, but we will certainly not take to the pitch with the aim of not losing. We will play to win.

“Last year, we played Bayern Munich twice in the UWCL, and they were two very different matches. We played very well in Biella, but we were punished by a series of set pieces that decided the game. Here in Germany, on the other hand, it was a one-sided game in their favour.

“Physical recovery is an important thing, especially when you're playing every few days. We will assess the players who had the most minutes in the last game and decide how to set up the starting line-up for the next game. I have a large squad at my disposal and I have a duty to use it in the best possible way. I have high-level players and I intend to exploit their individual characteristics based on the opponent we are facing, obviously taking into account the physical condition of each player.”

EVA SCHATZER

"We've prepared well for this match over the last three days, and we're expecting a tough game. Bayern Munich are a physical team with a lot of talent, so we'll have to fight hard. However, we're also a team with many talented players, so we'll play our cards right. We've prepared as best we can, and the atmosphere in the dressing room is good, but as always, the final word will be had on the pitch.

“For us, no competition is more important than any other. We always try to make the most of our potential, regardless of the competition we are in. We take it one game at a time.

“Lia's [Walti] arrival has been positive for me and for the whole team. She is a player with international experience and is already helping us a lot. We are happy to have her as a teammate.

“[Arianna] Caruso? It will be strange to play against her because she has been a symbol of our club. We are delighted to face her and hope that we will be the ones smiling at the end of the match.

“Wearing the captain's armband was a nice surprise, as I'm one of the youngest players in the squad. Before the match, I was told that I would be the vice-captain. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to win, but it was a very emotional experience. Regardless of the captain's armband, however, we all know that we are a united group and we are all pulling in the same direction.”
