According to NY Times, Chelsea will play whoever emerges from Arsenal’s tie with Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup semi-finals, and Newcastle United were drawn against Manchester City.

Chelsea reached the last four by beating League One’s Cardiff City 3-1 on Tuesday, with Pedro Neto scoring once and Alejandro Garnacho twice.

Manchester City advanced after a 2-0 win over Brentford on Wednesday, and holders Newcastle defeated Fulham 2-1 at St James’ Park thanks to a stoppage-time strike from Lewis Miley.

Because of scheduling issues, Arsenal’s tie with Crystal Palace will take place at the Emirates Stadium on 23 December.

The semi-final first legs are scheduled for the week beginning 12 January, with the second legs in the week starting 2 February.
