Flamengo are in advanced talks to bring Lucas Paquetá back from West Ham, and Walter Casagrande has questioned the scale of the pursuit.

"If Flamengo make such an effort to bring Paquetá now, paying 40 million euros, it is as if you are bringing Zico back from Udinese, come on," he said, speaking on UOL News Esportes.

"If it is cheaper, if Paquetá wants to go, if West Ham are willing to let him leave and the price is more accessible, fine, it is an opportunity. But to make all that effort to bring Paquetá to Flamengo, I do not see him that way."

West Ham opened talks by asking 60 million euros, but the figure is now 45 million euros, roughly R$ 376 million and R$ 282.4 million respectively.

Flamengo have scheduled important meetings to decide on the move. The clubs are expected to speak again on Friday 16 in a bid to finalise an agreement for the Brazil international, who has already accepted contractual terms.
