According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Castellón’s players earned strong notices against Burgos at SkyFi Castalia, with Diego Barri, Álex Calatrava and Camara among the standouts. Keeper Matthys conceded only from the spot after two fine saves from Fer Niño before the break.
Gerenabarrena deputised for Mellot, booked in the first half yet intense, practical and reliable. Alberto won most duels, carried the ball out with authority and pushed on, but was unfortunate over the penalty.
Brignani’s hesitation brought a booking as he rebuilds confidence, then Sienra came on and did well. Lucas Alcázar struggled at times with Mollejo’s distracting movements but delivered a superb cross for 1-0 and chose his moments to attack.
Barri grew with the contest, covered plenty of ground, used the ball well and made a crucial defensive play in minute 94. Ronaldo Pompeu balanced midfield during the dominant spell, then was sacrificed after a second-half switch. Pablo Santiago was short of his brightest form but pressed diligently and supported Gerenabarrena on the right.
Jakobsen’s threat was constant, he went close with a fierce strike and set up Mabil for the clinching goal, and looks settled in his role. Álex Calatrava helped create two goals and scored another with assistance from the goalkeeper. Camara worked tirelessly up front, scored, then left concussed to warm applause on 90 minutes.
