According to Le Progres, around 2,700 Celta Vigo supporters are due in Lyon on Thursday for the Europa League last-16 second leg at Groupama Stadium, with many anxious about reprisals after an ambush on Lyon fan groups in Vigo.

UEFA has raised the risk level around the fixture.

While 21,000 created a superb, passionate backdrop at Balaidos for the first leg, highlighted by a three-minute anthem sung in unison with scarves held aloft, the mood in the city centre had been different the night before.

Several dozen members of Lyon 1950 and the Kop virage nord, seated at a bar in central Vigo, were attacked on the eve of the game.

Around 30 members of Tropas de Breogan, armed with sticks, carried out the attack.
