For the sixth consecutive year, Celtic FC Foundation has partnered with Islamic Relief UK to provide vital food assistance to hundreds of vulnerable individuals and families across Glasgow.
Foundation colleagues and volunteers from Islamic Relief UK came together at Gateway Church in Dalmarnock to pack 200 essential food parcels, which were then distributed to local schools, charities and community organisations throughout the city.
Each pack supports an entire household and includes essential items such as tinned food, cereal, soup and biscuits, alongside toiletries and supermarket food vouchers to help families meet daily needs.
The initiative highlights the strength and longstanding partnership between Celtic FC Foundation and Islamic Relief UK, with both organisations committed to supporting communities experiencing financial hardship.
Celtic FC Foundation Head of Foundation, Donna-Marie Henry, said: “Year after year, this partnership shows the real difference we can make when organisations come together with a shared purpose.
“Working alongside Islamic Relief UK allows us to reach even more families across Glasgow who need support the most.”
Nadeem Baqir, Scotland Regional Manager for Islamic Relief UK added: “It’s great to be working with Celtic FC Foundation once again. This initiative is so important. We’re in a cost-of-living crisis, fuel bills are increasing rapidly, and people are struggling. Anything we can do to support the people of Glasgow is greatly needed, and we’ll continue to do it.
