New Chelsea signing Geovany Quenda has shown that he has a top level mentality ahead of making his switch to Stamford Bridge.

The Sporting winger joins Chelsea this summer and it’s largely been reported that he will be going into Chelsea’s first team squad right away.

Obviously we will have to see what happens with the new manager coming in at Chelsea and whether he fancies the young winger in his first team squad or not, but he certainly looks like a real talent for the future.

Chelsea may decide to bed him in next season, although a loan to a Premier League side might initially be the best steps to take right now.

Quenda clearly backs himself

According to Portuguese outlet A Bola as cited on SPTC today, Geovany Quenda had made a personal promise to himself that he did not want to leave Sporting for Chelsea without scoring again for the Lisbon club.

I love seeing this kind of thing from young players with top mentalities and confidence levels. It’s a good start to his next step joining Chelsea this summer.

Alonso is being linked more and more with the Chelsea job recently, and one journalist is now saying he’s the “main target” for the Blues. It’s pretty clear Chelsea want him as the priority.

Alonso would have the authority to command a dressing room at Chelsea, a key ingredient for the new manager. This helps make him the standout candidate for the head coach role at Stamford Bridge.
