Neto scored Chelsea’s first, second and fourth goals of the night at the MKM Stadium as they ensured they will be in the hat for the fifth round.

Estevao also got on the scoresheet in a game where Liam Delap missed a sitter but came away with a hat-trick of assists against his former side.

Dom Smith was at the MKM Stadium to rate the Chelsea players’ performances…

Robert Sanchez 6

Made one good save but the flag then went up for offside. Didn’t have a huge amount to do until stoppage time when he got his fingertips to Lewis Koumas’ effort, tipping it onto the post.

Reece James 5

Made one error that presented Hull with a chance to cross and almost score. A couple of good tackles but quite rusty on his return from illness.

Wesley Fofana 6

The Frenchman did okay at the back where he looked to play forward into the midfield and out wide for left-back Hato.

Mamadou Sarr 7

Made a really good impression as he was handed his first-ever start for Chelsea and made his first appearance since his recall from Strasbourg. Could have had an assist if those in front of him had finished better.

Jorrel Hato 7

Made another really strong showing at left-back, originally adjudged to have got on the scoresheet - until the second goal went down as Neto’s, direct from a corner.

Moises Caicedo 5

Made a very poor pass in a difficult first half for the Ecuadorian. Substituted after an hour.

Andrey Santos 6

Did a decent job in central midfield as he kept things ticking over. Should have scored a second-half header.

Pedro Neto 9

Responded brilliantly to recent criticism as he hit his first-ever senior career hat-trick to fire Chelsea into the fifth round.

Estevao 7

Will have been delighted to score Chelsea’s third goal on the night as Delap put it on a plate for him. Otherwise, just a little quiet, and missed a first-half sitter.

Alejandro Garnacho 6

Had a decent start to the game but then faded as it worse on. Played on the left flank.

Liam Delap 7

Missed an absolute sitter after blocking goalkeeper Dillon Philipps’s clearance against the crossbar and then sluggishly screwing up the rebound. But a superb second half meant he finished with a hat-trick of assists.

Subs:

Enzo Fernandez (James, 60’) 6

Went about his business well as he kept the game ticking over in midfield.

Josh Acheampong (Caicedo, 60’) 5

Slotted in reasonably well at right-back, where he inverted into midfield.

Tosin Adarabioyo (Fofana, 77’) N/A

Jesse Derry (Estevao, 77’) N/A

Shim Mheuka (Delap, 87’) N/A

Not used: Sharman-Lowe, Badiashile, Joao Pedro, Gusto
