Cherries bid for Djordje Petrovic

AFC Bournemouth have made an opening bid for Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic who spent last season out on loan.

Petrovic has been on the radar of several clubs this window, including fellow Premier League side Sunderland. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Bournemouth have begun talks with Chelsea over a potential transfer with the Serbian keen on a move to the Cherries.

Coincidentally, the 25-year-old's last game in a Chelsea shirt came against Bournemouth at the end of the 2023/24 Premier League season with Petrovic spending the 2024/25 campaign on loan at French side Strasbourg where he kept 10 clean sheets – the second most for a goalkeeper in Ligue 1.

Andoni Iraola's side are in need of a new shot stopper with last season's number one Kepa Arrizabalaga now at Arsenal after his loan with the Cherries ended.
