Liverpool will entertain Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield this Saturday as they look to secure a positive result at home in the Premier League. The Reds managed to secure a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur recently, which should keep them in good spirits ahead of this game.

Arne Slot will set his players up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some tweaks to his first team for this clash. Federico Chiesa and Jeremie Frimpong could both play from the start of this game.

Defence

Alisson Becker will feature in between the sticks for the Reds after he conceded one goal in his last outing. Ibrahima Konate will feature alongside Virgil Van Dijk at the centre of the Liverpool backline as they look to keep a good shape on the defensive end of the field.

Jeremie Frimpong will fill in as the right-back, while Milos Kerkez hopes to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to go forward and express themselves inside the opponent’s half.

Calvin Ramsey and Andy Robertson will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Curtis Jones and Ryan Gravenberch will anchor the midfield for the Merseyside club as they look to win the 50-50 duels at the centre of the park.

The gifted trio of Florian Wirtz, Alexis Mac Allister and Federico Chiesa will function just ahead of them as part of the Liverpool attack. All three of them need to be at their best if the Reds are to come out on top this weekend.

Rio Ngumoha will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed. However, Dominik Szoboszlai will be sidelined for this game due to suspension.

Attack

Hugo Ekitike will spearhead Liverpool’s attack up top. He managed to find the back of the net versus Spurs, which should keep him in good spirits going into this game.

Alexander Isak will miss this game after suffering a serious injury earlier this month. Furthermore, Cody Gakpo is unlikely to recover in time for this game.
