It hasn't exactly been the dream start to the season that many Birmingham fans would have been hoping for.

Following their record-breaking League One campaign, in which they amassed 111 points across the season, romping to the league title, Blues fans would have been hoping for more of the same this year.

Although their expectations would have been high, they were almost certainly not expecting another record-breaking season. However, sitting in 16th place after nine games with just three wins and seemingly struggling for goals would not have been what they had hoped for.

In fact, each of Blues' wins this season has been by a one-goal margin, with two of those being late winners, courtesy of Lyndon Dykes off the bench.

It shows that Birmingham are not quite firing on all cylinders just yet as they re-adapt themselves to the Championship, having dominated most matches in the third tier last season.

Ahead of their weekend clash at home to Hull City, Davies will be desperate to return to winning ways, with their last victory coming back in mid-September against Swansea City, followed by a 3-0 defeat to Coventry City, a 2-2 draw with Sheffield Wednesday and a 1-1 draw with Wrexham.

With the international break nearly over, Davies will have had ample opportunity to reassess his team selection ahead of their match against Hull, and must put out the side he believes will provide him the best chance of victory.

'Kyogo, Tommy Doyle and Osayi-Samuel' are expected to come into the starting lineup

Football League World's Birmingham fan pundit, Jason, has shared his opinion on whether he believes that Chris Davies should make any changes to his side's starting 11 for their home match against Hull City this weekend, and if so, what changes.

Jason said, "I think if it were up to me, I'd be making three changes.

"I think Kyogo has to start. I know he's still not scored, but the runs he makes, he constantly keeps people busy, and Lyndon Dykes just doesn't; he's a big man and that's about it, and most Championship defenders can defend against that, so that's my first change.

"I think if Osayi-Samuel is fit, he comes in and goes in at right-back, and then, for me, I'm torn, as I know it's a bit harsh, but I'd drop Leonard and bring in Tommy Doyle, as he's got to play.

"I appreciate that Chris Davies is biding his time, but he's got to play, he's the best midfielder we have got and everyone with a set of eyes can see that.

"He's got to come in, I'd say for Marc Leonard, but I'm quite happy to see him come in for Paik as well and play with Leonard, because, to be fair, Leonard was decent against Wrexham.

"They would be my three, Kyogo, Tommy Doyle and Osayi-Samuel if he's fit, if not, keep Iwata at right-back."

Chris Davies must find a Birmingham City attacking solution

Birmingham is not exactly lacking attacking firepower in their ranks.

They can utilise the likes of Demarai Gray, Jay Stansfield, Marvin Ducksch, Lewis Koumas, Patrick Roberts and Keshi Anderson as well as both Kyogo Furuhashi and Lyndon Dykes.

Birmingham have scored just eight league goals this season, and according to FotMob, they lead only bottom-placed Sheffield United for shots on target per match in the Championship this season, with 2.7.

Davies must quickly find a way for his team to create more chances; otherwise, they simply will not win as many football matches as required to challenge for the automatic spots, or even the top six, which is where they will have set their sights at the beginning of the season.

If Davies continues to struggle to get the best of his side in the final third, uncomfortable conversations will eventually begin to be murmured surrounding his future at Blues, despite his achievements in League One last season.
