Club Brugge have already got one eye on Sundays cup final ahead of their Pro League clash with Gent this evening. Simon Mignolet was injured for the previous game against Union St Gilloise and, while he has since made a return to training, it is unlikely that he will start against the Buffaloes. Nicky Hayen is likely to stick with Nordin Jackers, who was a key performer in last years play offs when the side won title number 19. Come Sunday, former Liverpool and Sunderland goalkeeper Mignolet will likely return in goal when the side face Anderlecht.

Despite their dominance in Belgian football over the past few seasons, Club Brugge have been unable to win the cup as often as they would have liked. The side have won it 11 times in their history but have not managed to lift the trophy since the 2015 final. For the 37-year-old Mignolet, time is running out to win this trophy with Club, who he joined back in 2019. If fit, it is unlikely Hayen will be able to stop him from playing, although it is also unlikely that Hayen would not go for the experienced goalkeeper over Jackers for the cup final.
