Could Mo Salah's final Liverpool match come next week? Confidence is now 'high' that it'll be the case.
Mo Salah is in a difficult spot at Liverpool after Arne Slot dropped him for back-to-back games. Now, Slot did recall him at half-time against Sunderland in midweek but it's the first time that Salah was left out like that.
It certainly brings his future into question. Salah may have only signed a new contract back in April but that simply means Liverpool would be paying him an awful lot of money to be a super-sub.
We should say, though, that Salah being in or out of the XI doesn't appear to have any great impact right now. Liverpool were no better against Sunderland with him on the bench, certainly.
But perhaps that's enough to bring his future into doubt? If the team doesn't need Salah, then why pay him £400k per week?

At the same time, it feels unfair to judge any player in this team as no one is managing to get it together. Liverpool are awful and with each passing week, it's more clear that the system is a bigger problem than the players.
Whether the club sees it that way is another matter. In fact, the persistence with roughly the same system suggests they don't - and that would mean Salah isn't necessarily needed.
The reason that's all important is that the Saudi Pro League want to try and sign Salah in January. That's according to the i paper, who claim 'confidence is high' that a deal could get done.
They're certainly not the first to claim this. The Telegraph also believes the funds are there to sign Salah in 2026.
But if he does move in January, it would actually make his final Liverpool game next week's clash with Brighton. Salah will depart for AFCON after that match, linking up with Egypt on the 15th.
The tournament goes well into January, by which time negotiations to Salah will be well underway. Possibly even completed.
