Antonio Conte was announced as the 2024-25 Serie A coach of the season following the confirmation of Napoli’s Scudetto victory on Friday evening, making it a Partenopei double following Scott McTominay’s MVP-winning campaign.

Napoli are the champions of Italy again. The Partenopei beat Cagliari 2-0 at the Stadio Maradona in their final league match of the 2024-25 campaign, which was enough to finish one point above Champions League finalists Inter in the standings, despite their 2-0 win away against Como on Friday night.

Serie A announced all the winners of the MVP awards immediately after full-time on Friday night.

McTominay was declared the overall MVP after sending Napoli on their way to Scudetto glory with an acrobatic overhead kick on Friday night.

Roma’s Mile Svilar won the best goalkeeper award, Inter’s Alessandro Bastoni picked up the best defender award, Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders claimed the best midfielder award, Atalanta’s Mateo Retegui went home with the best striker award, while Como’s Nico Paz sealed the best U23 player prize.

No player can win in more than one category, hence why McTominay is the overall MVP, but Reijnders the best midfielder.

To complete the MVP awards, Conte was confirmed as the league’s best coach.

In what is his first season in charge, Conte has guided Napoli to the club’s fourth ever Scudetto and their second in three years. He has now won five Serie A titles with three different clubs (Juventus, Inter and Napoli) and has won a top-flight title in his first season with three different clubs as well (Juventus, Chelsea and Napoli).
