Valencia, on 39 points and keen to lock in mathematical safety, host Atlético at Mestalla on Saturday, with Corberán confronting fresh issues up front. Simeone’s side have lost four of their past five LaLiga matches, though they beat Athletic Club in their last home outing and have one eye on the Champions League semi-finals.

Lucas Beltrán did not train with the group due to discomfort and is a late doubt for the game, according to El Chiringuito.

Luis Rioja, absent from the previous group session, returned on Wednesday. Eray Cömert is also working with the squad, although his place in the next matchday squad is not guaranteed.
