In standout form for Valencia, Stole Dimitrievski now meets Atlético Madrid, the opponents behind his career-worst 0-7 loss.
According to AS, the Macedonian said this week he is living his best moment since arriving at Mestalla, and his leadership, experience and saves have steadied Carlos Corberán's side. Valencia are also studying a renewal for him.
That thorn dates to August 2023. In matchday 3 with Rayo, Atlético tore through Vallecas 0-7. Dimitrievski endured a night when little worked, including the fifth gifted to Correa after a poor pass, and four of the seven arrived within 13 minutes late on. Griezmann, Memphis, Nahuel Molina, Morata, who scored twice, Correa and Marcos Llorente all struck.
It remains his heaviest defeat since moving to Spain. Across 146 Primera matches, he had never conceded seven in a single game.
Almost three years on, he hopes to remove that thorn with Valencia against Atlético. Beyond that rout, he has never beaten them, managing one draw and suffering five defeats.
