Corinthians confirm injury to duo after Campeonato Paulista match

Throughout the afternoon of this Friday (6), Corinthians confirmed, during their return to training at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava, the injuries of left-back Hugo Farias and forward Kaio César during the 3-0 victory over Capivariano on the night of last Thursday (5), in Itaquera, for the sixth round of the first phase of the Campeonato Paulista.

The first, according to a statement from the club, was found to have a lateral meniscus injury in his right knee and is expected to undergo surgery in the coming days. The second, meanwhile, was diagnosed with a contusion in the posterior muscle of his right thigh and is already undergoing treatment with Corinthians' physiotherapy professionals.

In yesterday’s match, at 15 minutes into the first half, Kaio César felt muscle discomfort during his debut as a starter for the team and ended up being replaced by midfielder Dieguinho, who went on to open the scoring for Corinthians. Hugo Farias, on the other hand, at 40 minutes of the first half, got involved in a challenge with winger Mike from Capivariano on the left side and had his leg caught in the turf, feeling pain in his right knee. He was replaced by Matheus Bidu.

Both, along with midfielder José Martínez, will be out for the match next Sunday (8), at 8:30 PM (Brasília time), against Palmeiras, at Neo Química Arena, for the seventh and penultimate round of the first phase of the state championship. When announcing the injuries of the aforementioned players, the Alvinegro also confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Matheus Donelli to the Arab world until mid-2026.
