Corinthians could finish the week up to three places lower in the Campeonato Brasileiro without kicking a ball. They are 10th with 24 points from 18 matches.
According to Meu Timao, matches from the 19th round have been brought forward to Thursday and Friday, with a postponed round 4 game also scheduled. The changes accommodate Santos, Vasco da Gama, Red Bull Bragantino and Grêmio, who play Copa Sudamericana play-offs next week.
On Thursday, Botafogo and Vitória can both overtake Corinthians. That would require Botafogo to beat Santos at Estádio Nilton Santos and Vitória to defeat Vasco in Salvador. If both results land, Corinthians would slip to 12th.
On Friday, Grêmio could move above them as well by beating Mirassol at Estádio Campos Maia by a two-goal margin. Also on Friday, Fluminense face Red Bull Bragantino and Bahia meet Chapecoense in the outstanding round 4 fixture.
Corinthians are next in action on Thursday 23, when they host Remo at 19:30 at Neo Química Arena in the 19th round.
