Corinthians executive summoned, board shields director

According to information initially released by journalist Luis Fabiani from Rádio Bandeirantes, Corinthians’ football executive, Fabinho Soldado, was summoned by the club’s Guidance Council (CORI) to provide clarifications about his actions in the daily routine at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava.

However, the current board, led by president Osmar Stabile, chose to begin a shielding process regarding the executive, opting not to involve him in debates with the oversight body that is part of Corinthians’ political structure. As a result, the president determined that any need for clarification should be directed to him and not to the football executive.

One of the topics that could have been discussed at the meeting was related to the change of the company responsible for the logistics of Corinthians’ professional football department for matches outside São Paulo. Early last week, Gazeta Esportiva published an article revealing that in April 2024, still under the administration of the ousted president Augusto Melo, the club decided to replace the company in charge of this area.

Recall here the article on the subject recently published by Central do Timão. Corinthians replaced Palace with Off Side upon the recommendation and suggestion of football executive Fabinho Soldado himself. However, after investigation by the current Corinthians board, it was found that the company has been operating without a contract at the club since it began providing services to the institution.

In addition, there were other irregularities. In cases like this – as stipulated in the club’s bylaws – Corinthians must collect at least three quotes before closing a deal of this magnitude, which did not happen. The arrival of the company also did not go through the Alvinegro’s compliance analysis, and the contract draft was not signed by the club.

In a statement sent to Gazeta Esportiva, Corinthians admitted the failure. Recall here. On the night of last Monday, October 6, the Corinthians Deliberative Council approved the 2025 budget review, which foresees the club ending the year with a loss of R$ 83.3 million. The change in course happened because the Augusto Melo administration, definitively removed at the beginning of August, expected a deficit of R$ 34 million, which, given the current situation, is unfeasible.
