Osmar Stabile plans to file an ethics complaint against Romeu Tuma Júnior after a chaotic Corinthians council meeting on Monday. According to Meu Timao, the club president alleges threats and coercion from the Deliberative Council chief.
Stabile intends to formalise the case with the club’s Ethics and Discipline Commission, with allies preparing a representation to Leonardo Pantaleão, vice-president of the council and head of the ethics body.
The club statute does not set a specific penalty for intimidation between office holders. Even so, Article 25 allows written warnings, suspension or expulsion for breaches, with the Ethics Commission empowered to investigate and, if needed, forward cases to the council for judgment.
Clause D of Article 27 also permits sanctions for condemnable acts, aggressive behaviour or damage to club property, a basis that could apply if conduct is deemed improper.
Before the statute vote, Stabile addressed members and said he had felt threatened and coerced by Tuma Júnior, alleging that a Friday dinner conversation included a warning to comply or face consequences. Legal chief Pedro Luis Soares backed Stabile’s account, citing an informal meal at Parque São Jorge.
Tuma then accused the board of rehiring security man Aldair Borges, named in Civil Police testimony over a January 2025 invasion at Parque São Jorge, as reported by Uol, and said he would go to the press if no action followed.
The disorder paused proceedings for about 10 minutes before the council presidency, citing Article 45, sent the draft directly to a General Assembly. After the meeting, Tuma Júnior said Stabile lied and that he awaits the ethics filing to present his defence.
