Corinthians reveal behind-the-scenes of win over Gotham FC in semi-final

On Thursday night, Corinthians released the behind-the-scenes video of their qualification for the final of the FIFA Women's Club World Cup. Last Wednesday (28), the Brabas defeated Gotham FC from the United States 1-0 at the Gtech Community Stadium, with a decisive goal by Gabi Zanotti, securing a spot in the final against Arsenal from England.

Released by Corinthians TV, the material is just over 17 minutes long and begins with the celebration of Gabi Zanotti's goal with the Fiel Torcida, who showed up in good numbers at the stadium located in the city of Brentford.

One of the highlights of the production is the soundtrack, featuring the introduction of the song Hylander by trappers Abbot and Somynem.grin. The song starts with the excerpt: “F**k the United States. This is Brazil, man”, in reference to the Brabas' victory over the Americans. Following this, the images show the celebration of coach Lucas Piccinato and the players after the final whistle.

Continuing, the video follows the departure of the alvinegra delegation from the Hilton London Wembley, the hotel where the team is staying, heading to the Brentford stadium. Meanwhile, the editing inserts in the background the narration of a journalist covering Gotham FC, highlighting the strong favoritism of the Americans before the match.

“Our American team begins its campaign in the FIFA Women's Club World Cup, surrounded by great favoritism. Considered one of the strongest teams in the tournament, the team (Gotham FC) arrives with the expectation of completely dominating the match and securing an easy victory. For Corinthians, the task will simply be to try to keep up with the pace and overall level of the Americans”, she stated.

Even in this scenario, the atmosphere among the Corinthians players was light. Inside the bus, the delegation sang in chorus the song Pensa em Mim by Zezé Di Camargo and Luciano. In the locker rooms of the Gtech Community Stadium, the environment remained relaxed, with dances, jokes, and even an improvised futmesa with an isotonic box. The tone changed only during the field recognition visit.

Then, Lucas Piccinato entered the locker room for the pre-match talk, emphasizing the importance of collective play and defensive compactness.

“We are super prepared to play a great game today, with everything we can. But what I wanted to make very clear, and it is already very clear, is that we need to do everything together today. All phases of the game, we need to do together. We need to defend together, attack together, balance the defense together, enter set pieces together, prepare and reorganize together all the time,” he explained.

After the final warm-up on the field, which included a rondo, finishing, passing exercises, and physical activities, the video presents the testimony of Serginho, the team's kit man, in a speech that caught attention.

“This game has to be ours. F**k it, whatever it takes. F**k it! Do whatever you want! Right? Whether it's tough, whether it's won, it will be ours. It has to be ours. That's how we think, there's no other way to think. Those who are cheering or against us, f**k them! I am Corinthians, just like everyone here is. There are people who are truly Corinthians, and we are truly Corinthians”, he stated.

The words were reinforced by Piccinato, who highlighted that no one wins a match the day before and reminded that Corinthians always dreamed of playing a game of that magnitude, emphasizing the group's strength to reach the final.

The material also includes highlights of the match, including the goal scored by Gabi Zanotti. After the final whistle, the athletes performed the traditional poropopó with the Corinthians fans. Zanotti and Gi Fernandes even climbed onto the advertising board, creating images that quickly spread across social media.

To conclude, Piccinato gathered the team in a circle at the center of the field, congratulated the players for their effort and victory, and reinforced that by staying united, the team has every chance of winning the title in the final.

With the qualification, the Brabas became the first team guaranteed in the final of the Women's Club World Cup, scheduled for this Sunday, February 1st, at 3 PM, at the Emirates Stadium, against Arsenal from England.
