Corinthians held the seventh hearing on statute reform at Parque São Jorge, focusing on the presidential election format and an honorary lifetime councillor. No decision was taken on whether to keep one round or adopt two.
According to Meu Timao, the draft allows either a single round or a run-off, creates a symbolic honorary lifetime councillor without voting rights to free up seats, and sets timelines for a pay plan, a code of conduct and a transparency portal. A dedicated CEO would formalise the statute.
Around 30 people attended. President Osmar Stabile was again absent, and Cori chief Miguel Marques had a concurrent meeting. Notables included Armando Mendonça, Felipe Ezabella, Vinícius Cascone, Rozallah Santoro, Peterson Ruan and Miriam Athie, plus members of Voz Corinthiana and Família Corinthians.
Views split. Fernando Domingues pushed for two rounds to boost legitimacy and backed the non-voting honorary role and cutting triennial councillors from 200 to 150, while Ezabella favoured a single round and tighter transition governance.
Rozallah Santoro opposed any Council pre-filtering tied to a two-round model. There were calls to cap spending between handovers, phase out remido membership, recertify members and adopt facial recognition.
The hearing was not streamed on Corinthians TV despite equipment being set up, as the board led by Stabile vetoed it. A broadcast would only be authorised if opened to all media, not just the club’s channel.
The format will be settled after the debate cycle, during the Deliberative Council vote. Remaining sessions start at 18:00, with registration required.
