Corinthians striker set for early return after rapid recovery

The Corinthians coaching staff may soon be receiving a “gift.” Forward Vitinho, the only player on the squad currently in the medical department, has been showing faster-than-expected progress after undergoing arthroscopy on his right knee and could begin physical transition within three weeks, with a chance to return to the pitch as early as November.

The information was initially reported by the portal ge.globo. It’s worth remembering that the player underwent the procedure on the 6th, after suffering a medial meniscus injury during the match against Mirassol, which Alvinegro won 3-0 at Neo Química Arena in the national tournament. Initially, the club expected Vitinho to return to play only in December, or even next season.

This assessment changed after it was found that the player’s recovery has been happening faster than anticipated. According to the schedule at CT Joaquim Grava, Vitinho will undergo transition activities supervised by the physiotherapy team and, afterwards, begin exercises with the physical preparation staff. After that, he will be cleared to prepare for his return to the pitch by Dorival Júnior’s coaching staff.

Vitinho, the most recent signing by Corinthians, made his debut on August 16, coming off the bench in the 2-1 loss to Bahia in the Brasileirão at Neo Química Arena. So far, the player has played ten matches for Alvinegro, starting in three of them and recording one assist.
