Corinthians Women eye strong start vs Atlético-MG in Brasileirão opener

On the evening of this Friday (13th), at 9 PM (Brasília time), Corinthians begins their journey in the Brazilian Women's Championship facing Atlético-MG at Arena MRV. The Brabas, it's worth remembering, are the most successful champions of the national tournament with seven titles won (2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025). The Brabas started the season with runner-up finishes in the Copa das Campeãs and the Women's Supercup.

In the match against the team from Minas Gerais, the Alvinegro defends an unbeaten record against the opponent. In four games between the teams in the history of the sport, there are three Corinthians victories and one draw, resulting in a 75% success rate. Additionally, there are six goals scored and two conceded. The first encounter between the teams in history occurred in the 2022 Women's Brasileirão at Independência and ended in a 1 x 1 draw.

In the following three games, the club from Parque São Jorge won them all. In the 2023 Brazilian Championship, at the Primeiro de Maio Stadium, ABC Paulista, they won 1 x 0. The following year, the two teams faced each other in the Women's Supercup at the Inamar District in Diadema, and the Alvinegro won 1 x 0. In the 2024 Women's Brasileirão, they triumphed with a score of 3 x 1, away, at Sesc Venda Nova.

Moreover, since the reactivation of the sport in 2016, Corinthians has never been defeated in an opening match of the Women's Brasileirão. In total, there have been 10 games, with a 100% success rate, scoring 47 goals and conceding only seven.
