Creditors slam Vasco and SAF’s offer: payment could take nearly 20 years

Vasco's financial turbulence gained a new chapter this Wednesday (10). A group of creditors has taken legal action to challenge the 1st amendment to the Judicial Recovery Plan (RJ) presented by the club and the SAF. According to them, the proposed conditions are abusive and violate basic principles of the legislation governing the process.

Among the most criticized points are:

Discounts of up to 92%, which would mean creditors receive only 8% of the amount owed;
Limit of 150 minimum wages per credit, restricting the recovery of larger amounts;
Lack of an exact payment date;
Up to 19 years to settle debts, considered disproportionate;
Creation of creditor subclasses, seen as unequal treatment;
Adjustment by the TR and interest of 1% per year, rates that, according to the challengers, do not comply with the law.

According to the creditors, the amendment shifts the burden of the club's poor financial management onto them and unfairly favors the SAF. This move is yet another obstacle in Vasco's already delicate restructuring process, as the club tries to resolve historic debts while seeking to maintain sporting stability.
