Cruzeiro close to loan deal with Palmeiras for Bruno Rodrigues

Cruzeiro are close to agreeing a loan with Palmeiras for Bruno Rodrigues until the end of the season. The forward is expected to arrive in Belo Horizonte on Monday.

According to Globo.com, his representatives offered him to Cruzeiro. The first approach, made before the season, was rejected, but the club’s need to bolster the attack has since altered the stance.

Palmeiras and Cruzeiro are discussing the final details to formalise the move. The player’s wages should be split between the clubs.

At Palmeiras, Abel Ferreira requested his signing two years ago, but the forward did not get a sustained run because of two serious knee injuries. He has 16 appearances and two goals for the club.

In his previous spell with Cruzeiro in 2022 and 2023, Bruno Rodrigues stood out in the Serie B title campaign and the club’s first year back in the top flight. He made 67 appearances, scored 17 goals and provided 10 assists.
