Crystal Palace and Aston Villa have reached an agreement in principle over the loan of forward Evann Guessand (24) until the end of the season, according to a report from Foot Mercato.
Joining from OGC Nice for €30m last summer, the Ivory Coast international has struggled to make his mark, starting only six of the 13 Premier League games he has played in so far this season. In total, Guessand has made 21 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals, both of which came in the UEFA Europa League.
Palace, preparing for the loss of striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, have reportedly made the 24-year-old one of their top priorities as the transfer window draws to a close. An additional attacking recruit for the Eagles, the fourth-worst attacking team in the Premier League, who have already signed Brennan Johnson (24) from Tottenham Hotspur this winter and could soon confirm the acquisition of Wolves’ Jørgen Strand Larsen (25).
Crystal Palace will have the option to make Guessand’s loan permanent for a €30m fee at the end of the season, as per RMC Sport.
