Cuéllar has been withdrawn from Grêmio training until Monday as he recovers from a viral illness after returning from the Carnival break unwell.

GZH first reported his removal from sessions, and he will miss Sunday’s Campeonato Gaúcho semi-final second leg against Juventude at 18:00, at Alfredo Jaconi.

A video of Cuéllar celebrating Carnival in Rio de Janeiro alongside Monsalve circulated on social media in recent days. The players were not reprimanded, as the club considered them to be on leave.

The Colombian has played only once for Grêmio this year, starting the 1-0 defeat to São José in the Gauchão’s first phase. He was on the bench in four other matches.

With Argentine midfielders Juan Nardoni and Leonel Pérez arriving, the 33-year-old’s opportunities have narrowed further. His contract runs until December 2026.
