Grêmio were held to a 1-1 draw by Juventude in the first leg of the Campeonato Gaúcho semi-final, with right-back João Pedro judged the poorest performer.
According to Globo.com, João Pedro endured a difficult night defensively, often resorting to fouls.
Tetê impressed in the first half and scored Grêmio's goal. Juventude's goal was scored by Patryck Lanza, with Tetê criticised for failing to track him. Willian supplied a fine delivery for Tetê's finish.
Weverton was not at fault for the concession and made a sharp reflex save after the interval. Balbuena kept his positioning solid, while Viery mixed technical errors with important clearances. Marlon offered width going forward but the final ball lacked precision.
In midfield, Dodi pushed on early then held his position. Arthur Melo kept it tidy but largely sideways, and Jefinho's ball retention slowed promising moments.
Up front, Enamorado was busy but wasteful and booked for simulation, Pavón worked without much spark, and Carlos Vinícius remained isolated. Late substitute André featured briefly and was left unrated. Head coach Luís Castro was marked down, with the team still short of collective fluency and his changes making little difference.
