Dante moves from Nice player to Bayern reserves coach in two months | OneFootball

Dante has moved from OGC Nice player to Bayern Munich reserves head coach in just two months, launching his new life on the touchline. The Brazilian has taken charge of the fourth-tier side and set out his ambitions, according to L'Équipe.

He took his first official match on 24 July at the Grünwalder Stadion in southern Munich, a 1-0 defeat to Eltersdorf. A second loss followed away to SV Wacker Burghausen last Friday, 2-0.

Dante, 42, barely paused after retirement, having earned his coaching badges in Wales. He opted against a break, seizing the chance to work with Bayern's youngsters.

He will also lead Bayern in the Youth League. The move returns him to a city he relished from 2012 to 2015, when he won the 2012-2013 treble. After a decade on the Côte d'Azur, he knows the Mediterranean climate will be missed, yet he had hoped to return to Germany's most decorated club.

He sees Bayern as holding a special place in his career and views Munich as a second home, aiming to settle for the long term. This week he joined Vincent Kompany for a training session at Säbener Strasse with around 60 professionals and academy players.

His approach puts people first, with trust and unity underpinning tactics and training. He wants his players to take responsibility, keep learning and, in time, feel he helped them grow as footballers and as men.
