Decisive figure steadies Sheffield Wednesday with second half equaliser

Gabriel Otegbayo levelled in the 76th minute with a low right-footed finish, securing Sheffield Wednesday a 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic at Hillsborough.

The defender timed his break into the centre superbly, meeting Jamal Lowe's feed and guiding the ball into the bottom left (76.). It capped a spell when The Owls had cranked up the pressure.

Otegbayo nearly turned it around completely, flashing a left-footed effort wide from close range after Max Lowe's cross (87.). He continued to step in at set pieces and from open play, keeping Charlton on edge late on.

He finished with two attempts, six clearances, nine possessions won and six aerial duels won, blending penalty-box presence with robust defending. That balance made him Wednesday's clearest route back into the game.
