Chivas Femenil has gotten off to a flying start in the Clausura 2026, remaining unbeaten and yet to concede a goal. With three wins and one draw to their name, Antonio Contreras’ side continues to showcase impeccable collective discipline, along with the rapid adaptation of their most recent signings to the Rojiblanco system.

The second match of this midweek doubleheader in Liga MX Femenil will take the Rebaño Sagrado to the Angelópolis, where they will face Puebla in search of three more points in the tournament. For the Guadalajara side, precision in front of goal will be key—and they certainly have the tools for it. One of those weapons already made her mark in the previous match and is poised to keep that momentum going in this new challenge: Denise Castro.

Wearing the No. 22 shirt for Chivas, Castro is beginning her second semester as a player for the most beloved and popular club in Mexico, after already leaving a very positive impression on the Nación Rojiblanca. Her first tournament with the team saw her score six goals and integrate quickly into Guadalajara’s attacking unit. In fact, she achieved something only 'Licha' Cervantes had previously managed with Chivas Femenil: scoring in four consecutive matches.

Game intelligence, dribbling in tight spaces, and a keen sense of positioning were among the traits that made Castro’s emergence in Liga MX Femenil even more eye-catching. Her standout performances even earned her a call-up to the Mexico U-23 National Team last October.

Last Wednesday against Querétaro, Denise scored her first goal of the semester, giving her extra motivation heading into the match against Puebla: to repeat what she accomplished in the Apertura 2025 and continue cementing her place as a regular in Guadalajara’s starting eleven.
